If you look at the title of this post, not only am I adding up the days in the camper (currently 33) I am also including a countdown until we can get into the house. Yes, 22 more days in the tin can. I can't imagine what it will be like to walk in a straight line instead of constantly shuffling sideways through the camper.
While we will be out of camp, we will sure miss our new friends from camp. And we will still be sleeping in the camper for a few days until we get our container of stuff and can unpack the beds.
Today I went to Saint John by myself. I had an excuse with a hidden agenda LOL. I really want to get used to traveling the highway myself and learning where things are. As for the hidden agenda...It is 30% off at Value Village for seniors Day Whooooo hoooo! While I am not a senior I do qualify based on their age calculations and certainly take advantage of it any time I can.
I had seen a couple of things when we were there on Sunday and decided to wait til today and get the 30% off. SCORE!!!
I picked up 2 globes and a lovely Sari that I will take apart for a journal or 2.
The globes will also be taken off the stands and I plan to hang many of them in a staggered collection from the ceiling in our living room/dining area. I may even turn a couple of them into hanging lamp shades. (look on Pinterest for globe lamp shades). Still undecided about the shades, but with the ones I already have and these 2 that I have added to my collection I am off to a good start! As for the stands the globes come on, they wont go to waste. I have an idea for that too. Stay tuned!
Then I stopped at the Refit store. OMGosh, so different from the one in Winnipeg. They have households and tons of furniture. Tom will build me a distressed wood dining room table as soon as he can and my plan is to buy10-12 (all different) wooden chairs and paint them the same colour to match the table. Then it will be to figure out chair cushions, but that is still down the road. They have loads of chairs and prices are amazing! I didn't buy any, LOL have to wait. But I did find several jewelry pieces to take apart for arting, and a set of note cards with envelopes theme Pride and Prejudice. I will use some in my journals someday.
And to those who know me, I am missing my dear friend Joe Labelle. Today is his birthday August 31st. I sent him a text message and as usual, Joe is a man of few words. He replied with a thumbs up and a smiley face. That made me smile too. If any of my gal pals and friends see him, please give him a big hug for me. I sure miss his daily visits at the shop.
Supper was fast and easy today, hotdogs and lattice chips. I thought by now I would be done for the year with hotdogs, but honestly I would do that supper again even soon.
We watched a movie on netflix to end our day. Title: Woman in the Window I would give 4 stars for this one.
Pics below are of the lovely teal and gold threads Sari I picked up. It wasn't easy taking the photo, very windy. The globes are already stuffed in the car. I can't seem to stop picking up stuff and I can always find a place to squeeze it in. When I unpack, there will be many pictures of items that I haven't shown you only because it got packed before I thought of taking pictures.
